:D

I am not patriotic.

But one day, every four years, I get really excited about my rights. I stand in line to vote, I wear red white and blue, and I get passionate about politics. Also, I happen to deeply love West Wing, so that helps.

For the first time in my life, the president that I have voted for, has won the election. It makes me proud to be American. Tonight Virginia went Democratic for the first time in 44 years.

Hell to the f'n yeah.

I'm independent, I don't believe a president can fix the problems we have. But, for the first time in my life(the first time I could anyway), I voted for a President. And what's strange is, as you said, all of the sudden after 44 years Virginia, my neighbor state, decides to go blue. Even my home state of North Carolina, for the first time in 32 years, may have decided to go blue too. I know how you feel now, and it does feel pretty damn good.

Now, lets just hope we didn't make a mistake.(I doubt we did)

I'm glad you could be a part of that! Obama won NM as well, which isn't nearly as exciting as him winning Virginia, but it's still a great feeling to know that I contributed to his victory. It feels good to win, doesn't it?

Did you watch all of the election coverage? Some of the reactions from foreign nations have been especially impressive--to see people so invested in Obama's cause that they were brought to tears was truly amazing.

I was super proud to be a Virginian last night. Especially because I live in Georgia but specifically didn't change my voting registration because of this election. Happy to be counted.

It was a good night indeed.
While I don't believe that Obama is going to be able to fix the majority of the problems that we have at home, I am definitely thankful to soon have a man in charge that is way less likely to piss the rest of the world off than our current president.
His presidency should help repair our foreign relations immensely. (I hope)

Carrie, don't know if you remember me. It's Ryan from the old forums back in ye olde 2002. We used to chat a bit and text now and then. There was never any hardcore animal molestation but it's not too late.

Anyway I'm trying to get in touch with you. Is there a good way for me to do that? Let me know,

-Ryan
